I have been practicing hot yoga for 15 years with great joy. In 2000, a co-worker convinced me to try a Bikram Hot Yoga class. My first experience brought me completely out of my comfort zone, however, I was drawn to go back and give it another try. Soon, Bikram Hot Yoga and eventually Moksha Hot Yoga became my addiction; having had the opportunity to practice in Vancouver, Edmonton and Saskatoon. Much of my hot yoga practice started as recreational, however, it quickly started to supplement any marathon or triathlon training I was doing at the time.

In 2012, I suffered a back injury and required surgery. During my recovery, I incorporated a daily yoga practice and witnessed the powerful and positive healing effects that yoga can bring. This is when my passion for yoga deepened. In July 2014, I completed my 200 Hr Hot Yoga Teacher Certification with Dallas Kruszelnicki in Saskatoon, who was trained by Bikram Choudhury. I now have the opportunity to share hot yoga and help others live fully and as healthy as they can.

Yoga requires a slowing of the body and mind that many may find difficult. I disliked my first yoga class in 2006, and at the time believed this dislike was due to the lack of intense fast-paced cardio, & weight training with the forethought of “what the heck can yoga do to change my body?” At the time, my mind body and soul were completely disconnected and so, the discomfort & dislike of yoga was actually my ego fighting back. I did not give up after my first class, and followed my personal belief that someone must try something new at least three times before moving on to something new. After many years of self-practice, and attending inspiring classes, I followed a path to India in February 2011 & attended Yoga Vidya Gurukul where I received my 200hr certification as a Yoga Instructor. I practice my own yoga daily, spend some time facilitating classes with friends, and in the past, have had the opportunity to teach several classes at the Rabbit Lake Cameco site.

It is an ongoing challenge to release your day’s worries, but when you are deeply connected and committed to your yoga practice, the challenge becomes your motivation and soon your mind & heart will open in ways you can only imagine. May this disconnect with oneself be your motivation to reconnect with who you really are, whoever that may be. It is your responsibility to make the change so you can shine brightly, and in an unconscious turn, motivate others to shine brightly. I look forward to facilitating your self-discovery, whether it be physical, emotional, psychological, &/or spiritual, via Yoga.

I grew up in Prince Albert and have recently moved back home from Penticton, BC after living there (and loving it!) for eight years. However, it is nice to be back where it all began. Growing up doing Tap, Jazz, and Ballet here with the Backstage Dance Company, my passion for movement, body awareness, strength, and flexibility led me quite naturally to Yoga and I instantly fell in love with it.

I completed my 300hr upgrade training with the fabulous Marion (Mugs) McConnell, who sits on the Standards Committee for Yoga Alliance, is the Canadian Representative for the International Yoga Teachers’ Association (IYTA), and co-owner of the South Okanagan Yoga Association (SOYA). I have a lot of experience teaching Hot Yoga, Multilevel Classes, Vinyasa Flow, Gentle Hatha, Men's Classes, Okanagan Hockey School, Seniors, Kids, and Private Yoga sessions which have included Pre-Natal Yoga as well.

I consider myself very blessed to have the opportunity to share the gifts and joy of yoga to so many different people, and truly believe that yoga can, and will benefit anyone and everyone’s life. I am always more than happy to help anyone customize their own practice to suit their specific needs, and get the most out of their yoga experience.

“Make an attitude to be in gratitude, you will find the whole Universe will come to you.” ~ Yogi Bhajan

I initially began practicing yoga three years ago in my quest to find a healthy way to deal with the rigor of an often hectic lifestyle. Although health and fitness have always been a part of my life, I was looking for a way to “slow things down”. While practicing Iyengar Yoga, I attended a hot yoga class two years ago and knew immediately I was hooked! When be Hot Yoga opened in Prince Albert, I knew I had found my calling. My journey with yoga has been a personal one. My practice has allowed for the opportunity for self-reflection and self-awakening.

With my children grown, I saw an opportunity to pursue training as an instructor. In February, 2015, I completed my Vinyasa Workshop Training with Dallas Kruszelnicki at Hot Yoga on 20th in Saskatoon. At that time I decided to continue on with my hot yoga training, subsequently receiving my 200 Hour Hot Yoga Teacher Certification. Through teaching, I desire to share my knowledge and passion of a practice I love and embrace. When I am not practicing yoga, I attend Crossfit, my second passion. Weekends are spent enjoying quality time with family and friends.

I first started practicing yoga in 2007 when I attended a power yoga class, and I was hooked. I enjoyed the way my body felt after class, completely energized and rejuvenated. After having suffered middle and upper back pain for much of my life, I was desperate to try anything that would help with the pain, and yoga was a great alternative! I first tried hot yoga in 2011 in Saskatoon, at Hot Yoga on 20th. My experience was like nothing I had ever experienced before, and challenged me in a way I had never been challenged. I actually walked out of my first class because I thought the heat was unbearable! I went back into the hot room after a quick break, though, and have been in love with the practice ever since.

I have done many exercise regimens in the past, but yoga is something I always come back to. Yoga is a great release for both the body and the mind (which is something I think we all neglect at times). I have personally experienced the benefits of a regular practice which include increased energy, decreased back pain, and overall strength and flexibility in the body. I completed my 200hr Teacher Training at Hot Yoga on 20th in Saskatoon with Dallas Kruszelnicki, who was trained by Bikram Choudhury, in July 2015. I'm so excited and grateful for the opportunity to be teaching yoga and hope I can share my love of yoga with you so that you can enjoy the benefits of this practice as much as I do!

My yoga journey began about 15 years ago while I was completing my second University degree. A friend and I decided to check out a local Hatha yoga class. From day one I loved the peace that I found through doing yoga. After the first class I was hooked. In the last 15 years I tried various styles of yoga and fell in love with Yin Yoga and Hot yoga. I felt that both styles helped my body and my mind the best. My first Hot Yoga class was at the be HOT YOGA studio in November 2014. I loved the warmth and how my body, mind and soul felt. The heat helped me to relax and also made my joints feel much better. I also found that my yoga practice was helping my stress level after an intense day at work. Unlike other forms of exercise that I have done, yoga has allowed me to heal, listen to my body, find peace and let go.

In December 2015, I made the decision and felt that it was time to share my love for yoga and help others find the peace that I was able to find by doing yoga. I enrolled in Vinyasa training in February 2016, which was instructed by Dallas K from Hot Yoga on 20th in Saskatoon. I then chose to take the 200 hour teacher training offered by Dallas at Hot Yoga on 20th and successfully obtained my yoga certificate in July 2016. I feel very honored and excited to share my love and passion for yoga with all of you. Namaste.
